Trio Trespassing

Trespassing was founded by percussionist Niklas Brommare and composer Jesper Nordin after their collaboration at IRCAM in 2003. After being joined by violinist Daniel Frankel the idea of the ensemble became to walk between borders of different styles of music.

Trio Trespassing play compositions interweaved and interrupted by improvisations. From their base in contemporary music they trespass into traditional folk music, classical music, electronic music and sometimes outside the music sphere. They play compositions by Swedish composers and by the members of the ensemble, but they also try to incorporate pieces from the continental contemporary music repertoary and therefore also play Xenakis, Lopez-Lopez and others. Trio Trepsassing released their first CD on the label C-Y Contemporary in 2009.
